Professional Bio
Dr Janine obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. During her clinical training, she completed a mixed-practice externship in the United States. After graduating, she worked for the South African government as an animal shelter veterinarian spending most of her time in surgical theatre, where she developed a strong and lasting interest in surgery. During this period, she also worked at a provincial laboratory, performing post-mortem examinations primarily focused on disease surveillance and control in domestic, large, and wild animals.
She later spent five years working as a locum veterinarian across the United Kingdom and South Africa, an experience that strengthened her adaptability and ability to integrate into diverse and constant changing practice environments while also satisfying her passion for travel. She is now looking forward to continuing her journey in Singapore, with the goal of further refining her surgical and general clinical skills while embracing the culture of Asia.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in the outdoors with family and friends and returns to the African bush whenever the opportunity arises.
